96 year old man blessed with a child

Ramajit Raghav has record books running to him again. He was blessed with a first child by his 50 year old wife Shakuntala Devi, in November 2010. At the time he was 94. Now, after expressing his desire to father a child again at 96, his dreams have come true again. Mother and son are in good health after a normal delivery and have shifted to their one-room home in the city suburbs.
Finally contented about the birth of his two miracles, he has urged his wife to undergo a tubectomy to prevent further pregnancies. With this, he is the oldest man to become father, not once but twice, having beaten his own record the second time round. Raghav had been a bachelor for a long time and practiced celibacy throughout till he met Shakuntala ten years ago. In his younger days, he was a wrestler brought up on a wholesome vegetarian diet and abstained from alcohol all his life.

Before him, the oldest know dad was Nanu Ram Jogi of Rajasthan who fathered a child at the age of 90 in Rajasthan. The baby was his 21st child.

Electricity generated from 'poop'

India is awakening to a new era of innovative toilets. They are swanky, state of the art, automatic, converts waste products to ecologically friendly charcoal, minerals, clean water and electricity through sewage treatment and water recycling methods using nanotechnology.
These are India’s first e-toilets: electronic portable toilets for public use. They take-up less than 40 sq ft of space, built with stainless steel to withstand corrosion and fitted with automatic fans, lights, locks and flush that switch on and off after the user enters and exists. Water is controlled with flushes using just 1.5 litres, as opposed to the three litres in regular toilets. Very soon, they will also have GPRS so that the e-toilets can be tracked down through mobile phone maps.

The e-toilets are the brain wave of Eram Scientific Solutions Ltd., in Thiruvananthapuram. Launched in Kerala with great success, the next cities targeted for installation are Delhi, Noida, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The next-generation e-toilets will be priced at Rs 3.5 to 8.5 lakh each.
